Details:

HBS carried out an initial acquisition survey, reporting on the condition of the existing building services and providing budget costs for remedial works. HBS were then subsequently appointed to undertake the design and site supervision of the fit-out works to VAA Engineering Department’s brief.

The brief covered the fit-out of the hangar box, engineering workshops, offices, staff welfare facilities, document control and security control post, engineering store, composite workshops and spray booth.

The works included new security access control, CCTV and barrier systems, improvements to the escape lighting system, power supplies to various items of aircraft maintenance equipment including frequency converter units to power the aircraft, external lighting, overhaul of the existing air handling systems, specialist ventilation system to the Workshops and modifications to the existing compressed air system.

The hanger box on the fire protection foam deluge system was completely overhauled with new foam monitors and flame detection system, and remedial works to the diesel engine pumps.
